We, the undersigned, urge Premier Doug Ford and local decision-makers to stop the destruction of our community sports field for a new Somali community centre. While we support spaces for cultural and community needs, this location is not the right choice. This is unfair! 

This field is a vital space where kids play sports, families gather, and residents stay active. Removing it ROBS CHILDREN OF FREE OUTDOOR PLAY and worsens congestion in an area already struggling with narrow roads and heavy traffic.

In a time when youth need more access to sports and outdoor activities, why are we taking that away?

Beyond the loss of green space, this decision would worsen traffic congestion in an area already struggling with narrow roads and high vehicle volume. Adding a large facility will only increase gridlock and safety concerns for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers.

We call on Premier Doug Ford and all decision-makers to FIND AN ALTERNATIVE LOCATION that does not take away vital recreational space from our community. There are other viable options—why sacrifice a space that kids, families, and residents rely on?
