PROTECT OUR CHILDREN! SECURE SCHOOLS AGAINST GUN VIOLENCE!

The Issue

WE ARE STANDING UP TO MAKE SCHOOL A SAFE PLACE FOR OUR CHILDREN
WE DEMAND TO SECURE SCHOOLS AGAINST GUN VIOLENCE!

  • Making walk through metal detectors mandatory nationwide.
  •   Placing qualified background checked and mental health evaluated armed security on all entrances and exits of the schools.
  • Limit gun sales to adults 21 years and older.

The U.S. has had 2,032 school shootings since 1970 and these numbers are increasing. Alarmingly, 948 school shootings have taken place since the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December 2012.

A shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, that has killed 19 children and two adults marks the 27th school shooting this year.

More than 311,000 students have experienced gun violence at school since Columbine (1999).

Time after time for more than a decade, Democrats in Congress have proposed gun restrictions and faced unyielding Republican opposition.

The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution protects the right to keep and bear arms. It was ratified on December 15, 1791, along with nine other articles of the Bill of Rights.

If the government is not able to find common ground on gun restrictions,  what stops it from protecting the most vulnerable - our children and their schools?
Why is The White House the most protected building in the world but our schools aren’t?

You can’t ban guns but you can protect our children and our schools! There are a lot of  unemployed veterans in the country who can secure the entrances. There are walk through metal detectors, that schools in wealthier neighbourhoods don’t place for the sake of their prestige, not to be associated with low-income neighbourhood schools.

  • Make walk through metal detectors mandatory nationwide.
  • Place  qualified background checked and mental health evaluated armed security on all entrances and exits of the schools.
  • Limit gun sales to adults 21 years and older.

These simple measures will inevitably prevent gun violence at schools and give everyone a sense of safety!
Waiting another decade for resolution with NRA and observing our children massacred is not an option.
Any potential gunman has to know that he won’t  be able to step on the school’s ground  alive.
Enough is enough!

Act on it now!
Sign this petition!
We have  to stop it!
