This is not political it’s personal. As a parent of two children with IEPs for different disabilities, I have witnessed firsthand how critical these protections are. Without my child’s IEP in mainstream school, the district would have gotten out of paying for services they had already agreed to. The federal law forced them to uphold their commitment. Without these protections, countless children will be left without the support they need.

My deaf daughter relies on Deaf mentors, parental advisors, interpreters, and critical accessibility services just to have an equal opportunity to learn. If H.R. 899 passes, these essential resources will disappear, leaving children like mine without access to the education they deserve.

What happens if this bill passes?

🚫 No federal oversight for IEP’s parents will have to fight even harder for services

🚫Frozen or cut funding for disability education, accessibility, and intervention

🚫 Loss of legal protections under IDEA, impacting millions of children

IEPs are often the only tool parents have to fight for their children’ s rights. Without them, our kids will be left behind.
