The Issue

⚖️WHY THIS PETITION EXISTS:
This petition has been created to build a strong, united network across the UK — giving us the numbers, voice, and power to formally object to any future legislation that may unfairly impact our livelihoods.

We are acting now, before anything is introduced, to ensure that if proposals are put forward, we are:
✔️Prepared
✔️Organised
✔️Represented
✔️Ready to challenge as one collective
👉This is about strength in numbers.

We must be ready to challenge anything that affects our livelihoods, not after decisions are made — but before.

For over 18 years, ethical non-medical practitioners have built successful, compliant businesses within this industry. It is only fair that those who have operated safely and responsibly for over a decade are recognised through grandfather rights, protecting both their profession and their businesses.

⚠️WHAT HAS BEEN PASSED IN SCOTLAND:
The Non-Surgical Cosmetic Procedures Bill in Scotland has introduced a framework to regulate aesthetic treatments, including:
•Stricter control over who can perform procedures
•Increased clinical oversight
•A shift toward prescribing healthcare-led treatment models
•Non prescribing healthcare professionals and non-medics require a prescribing medic to be present during procedures

Within this framework, reference to “medics” or “healthcare professionals” would effectively exclude both non-medical practitioners and non-prescribing healthcare professionals, concentrating control within prescribing clinicians.

⚠️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿ENGLAND IS NEXT…
There are already ongoing government discussions and consultation outcomes in England, including proposals for:
•A licensing scheme for non-surgical cosmetic procedures
•A risk-based categorisation of treatments
•Greater control over who can perform treatments and under what level of supervision

The direction is clear — regulation across the UK is coming.

England has significantly more practitioners than Scotland, meaning the impact of similar legislation would be far greater, affecting thousands of professionals, businesses, and clients.

💉HOW THE INDUSTRY HAS SAFELY OPERATED:

For many years, the industry has operated under a safe, structured, and compliant model, where:
✔️Practitioners work alongside qualified prescribers
✔️Face-to-face consultations are carried out for prescription-only treatments
✔️Prescriptions are issued legally and appropriately
✔️Prescribers are available for clinical support and adverse event management

👉This does not require a prescribing medic to be physically present in the room for every procedure.

This model has been used successfully and safely for well over a decade.

❗THE CONCERN:
The suggestion that a prescribing medic must be present at all times is:
•Not reflective of current safe practice
•Unrealistic for day-to-day operations
•Financially unsustainable for small businesses
•Unfit for purpose

It risks penalising practitioners who have already demonstrated safe, ethical, and compliant practice for many years.

💪WHAT WE ARE BUILDING…
This petition is about creating:
✔️A national collective voice
✔️A strong network of practitioners and supporters
✔️The ability to object formally to any unfair proposals

If legislation is introduced similar to Scotland, we must already have the numbers ready to respond.

⚖️WHAT WE ARE ASKING FOR:
•Fair and proportionate regulation
•Representation for all practitioners affected
•The right to object to legislation impacting our livelihoods
•Recognition of experience through grandfather rights
•Regulation based on competency, training, and safety — not titles alone

⚖️PREPARING TO PROTECT OUR INDUSTRY:
We will also be launching a GoFundMe campaign to build a legal fund, allowing us to:
•Seek legal counsel
•Challenge any unfair legislation
•Object to changes that threaten safe and established practice

📢OUR MESSAGE:
We support regulation — but it must be:
✔️Fair
✔️Proportionate
✔️Reflective of real-world practice

This industry has been built by both medical and non-medical practitioners, and that must be recognised.
