Protect Nevada Workers from Political and Age Discrimination
The Issue
Public jobs should be based on service — not politics.
Sally Christensen worked for Nevada Lt. Gov. Stavros Anthony for more than a decade. After years of loyal service, she says she was suddenly overwhelmed with new duties outside her job description, then quietly terminated and replaced by a younger, Turning Point USA alum hire. She believes it was never about performance — it was about pushing her out.
Christensen’s case is not unique. Across the country, public servants are being replaced with campaign insiders, social media influencers, and political allies — even in small offices meant to serve the public, not partisan agendas.
This isn’t about one party. It’s about protecting professional staff who dedicate their careers to public service. Nevada's government should not be a revolving door where experience is dismissed and civil service jobs become rewards for political loyalty.
We call on the State of Nevada, the Department of Administration, and the Legislature to:
- Audit hiring and firing practices in elected offices
- Establish clear protections for staff against politically motivated terminations
- Ensure job expectations are consistent and fair — not designed to push someone out
Public trust depends on a government that values merit, not manipulation. When longtime staff are forced out without cause or transparency, it weakens institutions and erodes accountability.
Sign this petition to stand up for public service and demand fair hiring practices across all of Nevada’s state offices.
