With the constant congestion of low-flying training planes circling over our neighborhoods, we must face a hard truth: it’s no longer a question of if there will be a crash, it’s a question of when.
And when that day comes, where will it be?
Someone’s house?
A school full of children?
A busy neighborhood street?
The skies above Mesa have become dangerously congested with flight training traffic. Residents are reporting relentless patterns of aircraft looping overhead, sometimes dozens at a time, from early morning until late at night. This is not normal air traffic, it’s an industrial-level training operation taking place directly over our homes.
Meanwhile, the FAA has failed to step in and reduce this traffic or require safer training practices. Instead, the burden and the risk fall squarely on our community. Every additional plane in this crowded pattern increases the chance of disaster.
We cannot wait for tragedy to be the wake-up call. The FAA and local officials must take action now to reduce training congestion before it costs lives.
