The Issue

I am a Lancaster, Ohio parent asking City Council to strengthen protections for children in our community by keeping individuals who are currently required to register as sex offenders from participating in designated child-focused spaces, programs, and events, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

This includes parks, playgrounds, public pools, recreation centers, churches, libraries, youth sports, camps, community centers, farmers markets, fairs, festivals, and children’s events hosted or sponsored by the city, nonprofits, businesses, downtown organizations, churches, and other community groups.

I am asking Lancaster City Council to determine what restrictions it can legally establish and implement those protections wherever permitted under Ohio law.

Our children deserve safe spaces, and parents deserve clear, consistent standards.

If you support stronger protections keeping registered sex offenders away from designated child-focused spaces and activities in Lancaster, please sign and share.
