Thank you again for signing to help protect Kensal Green Cemetery. Support so far has been extraordinary—and continues to grow.
Many of us came to this campaign because we care deeply about the cemetery — its history, its role as a place of remembrance, and its importance as a rare green refuge.
But the full story is bigger — and more concerning. It is important to say, clearly and openly, that the concerns do not stop at the cemetery boundary.
The proposed development raises a wider set of serious questions — about scale, safety, access, contamination, affordability and environmental risk. These are not abstract issues: they affect how safely the site can function, how people will live, and how the surrounding neighbourhood will cope.
A coalition of residents and community groups has come together to ask the Mayor of London to intervene — to prevent a development that risks overwhelming this site and its surroundings. When the time comes, we will be ready to present him with a powerful case.
Over the coming days, we will share short updates explaining these concerns — one by one — to clearly illustrate what is at stake.
At this stage, the decision is not yet final. The Mayor of London still has the power to intervene. There is hope!
Please keep sharing this petition with friends and neighbours across London: https://www.change.org/KensalGreenCemetery
Thank you for being part of this coalition — and for helping to ensure that decisions are made with full awareness of their consequences to all Londoners.
