Thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke, and supported our effort to protect Indian Meadows from cut-through traffic.
It was an eventful evening, the meeting began with an amendment to the agenda, and you can watch the full discussion here (starts at 17:28).
Councilmember Dan Gookin asked his colleagues and city staff to listen to our concerns and meet with the developer to explore other road options that avoid routing traffic through Indian Meadows.
After the public hearing on the Coeur Terre changes, which were approved, the Council allowed time for neighbors to present our concerns. You can watch that portion beginning at 1:58 in the same video link. We waited nearly two hours to speak, but it was well worth it.
Following our comments, the Council directed city staff (Planning, Streets, and other departments) to meet with the developer and include up to two neighborhood representatives to discuss possible alternatives that avoid Indian Meadows.
Suzanne Knutson, Rob Knutson, and Nate Dyk have agreed to represent the neighborhood in those meetings. There will always be at least two of us present, and we’ll provide regular updates to both the community and Councilmember Gookin.
Please take a moment to watch the video so you can hear the neighbors’ concerns firsthand and understand what’s at stake for our neighborhood.
This is a major step forward, our voices are being heard. However, nothing has been decided yet. It’s important that residents stay informed, stay involved, and continue showing up as this process moves forward.
👉 Next meeting: City Planning & Zoning Commission — November 12 at 5:30 PM.
Together, we can protect the character and safety of Indian Meadows.
