Beginning the week of March 16, 2026, word has been traveling throughout Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT) regarding recent Board talks of budget cuts threatening the jobs/positions of some of GCIT’s most beloved staff. GCIT would not be the school or the establishment that it is without these individuals, some being the most passionate and impactful this school has to offer. I am a Senior at GCIT in Biological Sciences, and for us GCIT students, our teachers and staff serve as parental figures, inspirations, support systems, and outlets; it would be a grave disservice to them, the students, the school, and morale to let them go. We are looking for as many signatures as possible prior to the County Commissioners’ Office Meeting on April 1, 2026 and the next Board of Education meeting on April 15, 2026. Please join us in signing this petition in efforts to protect these invaluable and talented staff members. Let's do our jobs in supporting our staff as they have supported us and enact change by demanding attention!
