The response below in bold from Councillor Benham-it doesn't say much different to what has been said before except that an announcement of sorts is due. I'm going to ask for details of the consultation and also review the minutes of or contact the Chorlton Trade rs association- keep your ear to the ground for dates of consultation.

Thank you for your email about the redevelopment of Chorlton Cross and for sharing your concerns. We know that there are a number of key businesses within this site and how valued they are by residents.

There have been various proposals for this site since 2017 and we know that any speculation will create interest and concerns from traders, businesses and residents,. As the land is not owned by Manchester City Council, we have been working with the current owners Greater Manchester Pension Fund (GMPF), and the developers to ensure that a full consultation takes place prior to any planning application submission. We are expecting a public statement within the next few days that will confirm the proposed development (which will be a mixture of commercial/residential properties), and a commitment to a public consultation about the site, and this should start in the summer.

We will support businesses to relocate and return to the site when work is completed and have already offered support. Me and my other ward colleagues have also attended regular meetings with Chorlton Traders Association and kept them updated about the plans for the site.

We will continue to keep residents, traders and businesses updated about any consultation plans.
