The complaint I raised has temporarily been closed—the police refused to release records via a Subject Access Request (SAR) while the complaint was open.
After again a month of more conflicting barriers the SAR was released, partially, and minimal.
Only a brief pre-involvement statement (“occurrence enquiry”) from one officer has been provided, does not show details of occurance from officers or after. Also, was not entirely factual.
No full statements, use of force forms, or referral forms have been made available.
Body-worn camera footage is not yet accessible.
Information provided in the brief statement is not entirely factual, raising concerns about accuracy.
There is still no clear understanding of the full incident or why 4 officers were involved, 2 were mentioned.
A Subject Access Request (SAR) has been submitted to the school to match up records and clarify events and SAR again has been challenged.

We need clear standards for police involvement with vulnerable children—before, during, and after incidents—to prevent ongoing distrust, confusion, and trauma. Partial answers are not enough. Children must be protected, and parents must be fully informed.
