I’ve now received body worn footage from Merseyside Police, along with the statement:

“There was no use of force.”
However, the footage shows multiple restraints over a period of around 20 minutes, including the use of handcuffs and multiple officers holding my son on the floor.

It has taken nearly 6 months to obtain this footage — and I still have not received all related documents.

This delay, the level of resistance, and now being given information that directly contradicts the video evidence is deeply concerning.

Parents and carers should be given clear and timely information to support those they are responsible for — especially where a vulnerable child is involved.
