I have the pleasure of calling Cabin Lane Coop and Post Office my local shop, and it has become clear to me just how much this establishment means to our community. Our local Coop and Post Office is more than just a store; it’s a heart that pumps life, community involvement, and practical services into our neighborhood.

Closure of these entities would not only disrupt our daily routines but also fracture the sense of togetherness we share in our community. Not to mention, statistically, over 99% of the UK population lives within three miles of a Post Office (source: UK Office of National Statistics) showcasing the relevance of these services in our lives.

We understand that economic challenges present tough decisions. Still, when such decisions impact the vitality of our community and disrupt essential services, we believe it’s time to reconsider. The closure of the Post Office would specifically affect the elderly and marginalised who depend on their services for banking, pension collection, and a means of communication.
