Protect and Restore an Art-Deco masterpiece in Vancouver

The Issue

The Salvation Army Temple is a beautiful art deco masterpiece at the corner of Hastings and Gore.

Built in 1949, it has stood empty for for the last 17 years.

Now it might join most of Vancouver's 20th Century landmarks in being demolished.

The nearby Pantages Theatre was tragically demolished in 2011

We cannot let this happen again.

There is so little heritage left in Vancouver. We know that sustainable communities are not created by thoughtlessly erasing what has come before. The temple is clearly a masterpiece and should be protected and restored as a community gathering place.

More information.
