The Polish Social and Cultural Association (POSK) in Hammersmith is a unique cultural and community institution, hosting theatre performances 🎭, concerts 🎶, exhibitions 🎨, lectures and commemorative events throughout the year.

These events bring together people of all ages and backgrounds and play an important role in the cultural and community life of Hammersmith & Fulham.

We are concerned about the proposed changes to Parking Zone L, which would introduce parking controls 7 days a week, from 8:30am to 10:00pm, with a maximum stay of just 2 hours.

These restrictions could make it significantly more difficult for people to attend evening events at POSK. Many performances and concerts last longer than two hours, potentially forcing visitors to leave early to avoid a parking penalty.

This could particularly affect older people, families with young children, people with mobility needs and visitors travelling from outside the immediate area.

We ask Hammersmith & Fulham Council to:

Reconsider the proposed Parking Zone L restrictions.

Recognise the important cultural and community role of POSK.

Ensure parking regulations do not create unnecessary barriers to attending cultural events.

Explore longer parking periods or suitable arrangements for visitors attending evening events.

Consult with POSK and the local community before implementing the changes.

Culture and community should remain accessible to everyone. ❤️
