Brady list Sgt. Derek Pfeifer

Brady list Sgt. Derek Pfeifer
The Issue
This petition is to ask the Fayette County Prosecutor, City Solicitor, and federal District Attorney to place Washington Court House Police Sergeant Derek Pfeifer on the “Brady List.”
Police officers who have been dishonest are sometimes referred to as "Brady cops." Because of the Brady ruling, prosecutors are required to notify defendants and their attorneys whenever a law enforcement official involved in their case has a sustained record for knowingly lying in an official capacity. Often times, these officers are unable to testify in trials because of their documented lies.
In 2005, Pfeifer was fired from the state prison system after he used the “N” word while on the job, according to the official termination letter dated December 9, 2005.
In 2007, he applied to be a Washington Court House Police officer. On his employment history where he listed the state prison as a former employer, he put that he “resigned” from the position; that is a lie. He was ultimately hired by the city, and when administration learned of this lie, he was not fired, despite the application clearly saying that any falsehoods on the application would be grounds for dismissal; he was promoted from patrolman to sergeant.
In 2014, Pfeifer posted a photo on social media of a sign that read, “No colors allowed,” inside of a biker bar. While the sign was about biker gangs, Pfeifer gave a “thumbs up” in a photo with the sign and captioned it on social media, “Silly white people” with a big smile.
Also that same year, Pfeifer posted online that he almost busted the heads of “hood rat kids” into the street.
This petition is a formal request to the county’s top law enforcement officer to review the facts and to place Sergeant Derek Pfeifer on the Brady list, making him incapable of testifying in criminal trials.
