Angela Rayner has mentioned that Yvette Cooper will investigate the possibility of proscribing the English Defence League (EDL) as a terrorist group ,however EDL has disbanded in 2013 but they the form of splinter groups. Humza Yousaf has supported this initiative, emphasizing that the UK has an issue with far-right extremism and urging Cooper to utilize her anti-terrorism powers to outlaw the group.

 We will not be subjected to violence and intimidation in our own streets by far-right mobs emboldened by extremist politicians. This rising aggression is alarming, and we are deeply concerned about what the future holds. As British citizens, the government has a duty to protect us from religious and racially aggravated violence. It's imperative that the government takes decisive action to stamp this out."
