Talked to lots of great people in Cordova Bay yesterday while handing out flyers for our petition yesterday. Thank you for speaking to me, I really appreciate it. What I can say, is that whether you are FOR or AGAINST development, one thing is CRYSTAL CLEAR, is that we ALL think this current development, as proposed by Aragon at Cordova Bay School last November, is WAY over the top here.

Just to remind everyone of the over-the-top list, which features –

One 15 storey High Rise

One 13 storey High Rise

One 11 storey High Rise

Two 10 storey High Rise

Two 6 storey High Rise

Five 5 storey High Rise

And,

Twenty – Five – 3 storey buildings

As well as

Three 6 Storey rental buildings.

It took me almost 10 minutes to type this list because it is so long😊. Please look at the list above, and really, really think out about it. This amount of densification does not conform to the surrounding semi – rural and forested fabric of the Cordova Bay area. It simply DOES NOT fit.

We need to be paying attention here! We need support and we need to tell Saanich that it is WAY over the top. We DO have that POWER! But we need everyone on board to do it.

I waited several minutes on Friday turning left onto Doumac to get to my Scotiabank Branch because it was one car after another. With the current development already underway and the CURRENT traffic, this is just nuts! I don’t need to tell you all how bad the traffic will be.

Contact the Council, the Mayor, call, write, go down and meet them in person. Tell everyone about our petition.  WE are the only ones who can scale this back, period. Numbers are the ONLY thing that will change the direction of this outlandish development.

Remember, our silence is the developer’s gold. They have also been obviously silent about it as well, because they know they will get what they want if we roll over. Let us try and not let that happen. Once this overdevelopment begins there is no going back.

Best Regards,
