Proper Investigation Into ECU HEALTH MEDICAL CENTER!

The Issue

My iron has been all over the place, so my doctor sent me for iron infusions. Which made me feel better! The infusion center explained in detail what the port was & how they would access it. They suggested it because it was taking 30-45 minutes sometimes longer just for me to get access and only about 15 minutes to receive my iron. I then messaged my doctor asking for a PORT! My doctor's nurse responded saying “my doctor was off for the week but would return on Monday”. My doctor responded the next day “this is certainly a reasonable request as you may continue needing intermittent iron infusions. I will place the referral.”  Placing an order for a power line insertion the following day. So how did radiology make the change? Fast forward to December 3rd 2021 the day of the procedure they need me to sign consent request for operation form, I did. Now here I am confused. What is this in my chest? They told me they did what the order was for which is a VIR PERM CATH HICKMAN NEOSTR PICC GREATER 5 YEAR.  Later I went to the emergency room because I was bleeding from the procedure site and the wait time, let’s not talk about it. Therefore I left trusting God! Three days later, I returned to the unit for “evaluation of power line site.” I haven’t been able to take care of my children because I was in severe pain. They cleaned up the site, put a new dressing on, and sent me home. The authorization & consent for treatment & assignment of benefits form acknowledges that “I understand that if more invasive or non routine procedures or examinations are necessary, I will be informed of the risk and benefits of such necessary additional treatment and will be given the opportunity to consent to EACH such necessary additional treatment.” According to medical records, on the 6th day, I was in there unit as a WALK IN for an INFUSAPORT site check. So do I have a infusaport, tunneled central venous access catheter inside me or is it the picc line GREATER 5year?  Why did Medicaid receive a bill for operating services minor surgery plus the use of the clinic when I have pictures laying in the bed getting it removed? At 12:06PM you are setting up a Perm CATH Neostr removal. I’m not mad about taking it out because I have been asking since I woke up december 3rd 2021 to take it out. What bothers me is that I could have signed the “request for operation, procedures, anesthetic and other medical services form.” The informed consent of each additional treatment. We had time to smile and take pictures! The orders were placed over the phone, that left enough time to sign a piece of paper. In my medical records it said I had “difficulty flushing the line.” My doctor discontinued the HOME HEALTH orders the day I got the line placed. The doctor that removed it said that lidocaine, numbing medicine was used in the notes and another doctor said none was used, but there was no talk about the scalpel. I reached out to my doctor asking if we could sit down and talk about everything that happened. The notes have no mention of my PORT AT ALL! My doctor told me to my face it was a miscommunication between them and radiology. The order was placed november 24th 2021 though. Time has gone by and I have asked multiple times for my PORT from my doctor, but it’s always an excuse like “I am hoping we can avoid the PORT. We will get infusions set up.” They are the ones that suggested I get the PORT! I tried again “hello I’m reaching out to get a PORT placed and get set up for iron again.” Response, “I think it will be best to get you into clinic for updated labs, exams. Then we can thoughtfully order the PORT AND IRON INFUSIONS.”  Why did I have to get punished for “YOUR MISCOMMUNICATION?” I had a colonoscopy less than a year later, my line blew upon insertion of the scope and they still kept going. I signed CONSENT to be asleep. Why is it only TWO pictures of the rectum, Where are the rest of the pictures if you made it to the ascending colon? I know I’m not the billing department but Why was Medicaid billed for a colonoscopy twice for ONE incomplete procedure?  On my paperwork for surgery, was a check by a nurse that I had asthma which I have never been diagnosed asthmatic. No vitals were performed after the procedure because I was agitated. I feel like anyone that signs consent forms to be asleep would be upset feeling a camera moving in their anus, and for a moment I was awake, knew what was happening and still couldn’t move. Then they told me they couldn’t finish, yes I was upset.  From the Dates, Times, Signatures and White Out on my records I don’t know what to do.  Also I don’t understand how I signed my discharge papers at 11:58 and my appointment wasn’t until 12pm. How did I sign if the hospital listed the discharge papers had to be mailed to me, I have the originals. It’s listed on the colonoscopy notes that I was in need for a PICC LINE PORT in the past & ANY FUTURE PROCEDURES WILL NEED TO BE DONE AT HOSPITAL WITH LIKELY VAT TEAM OR A PORT IN PLACE. So why make me feel like I’m begging for my PORT. It was told to me no retaliation would be taken against me because I filed a complaint with the office of patient and family experience early 2022. My doctor wrote me June 15th 2022 letting me know they knew I filed a complaint. The hospital sent me a secured email, saying no medical error could be substantiated September 20th 2022. My colonoscopy was November 15th 2022 , coincidence. I should feel safe taking me & my children to the local hospital. I have complained to the hospital multiple times and it seems like every time I do their way of handling it, my doctor gets a raise. The “supervisor that writes the checks” asked to meet with me after i went to the administration building asking to speak to a CEO. I was told to send over pictures for her investigation, but I find in my medical records some of the same pictures I emailed November 19th 2024 cropped out and put in black & white, I have the originals and email. Why are they in my medical records scanned on December 4th 2021? That's a big time difference. When was my consent given to do that? Now I understand why the email asking about fabric being retained was a secured email, I also have. Then sending letters denying wrongdoing, denying compensation, and the big thing, NOTING that I lost trust in the healthcare system. I wanted the ones that had any part in this to be held accountable. I have an older family member who complained about dizziness. Lawyers have told me time after time that because we live in this state the laws protect doctors. Who will be here to protect us? The same hospital diagnosed vertigo, no imaging done. They Traveled to another hospital from ENC that found a large mass on the brain and cancer. What if they settled for the first diagnosis? They could have died, this was just last year! So I ask you, Do you have confidence in your doctors? How many people aren’t here anymore because of a mistake or miscommunication in a hospital, doctor's office? What are we, Medicaid or Medicare really being billed for? I have lived through the most traumatizing experience of my life. I have court in February, fighting to keep my disability because I was afraid of going to the doctor! How do I explain all of this? I faced my battles necessary & unnecessary, I earned every scar. I feel like I don't have rights when going to the local Hospital, Doctor office! I feel like just another experiment for your teaching. Making better healthcare a reality for who? My view looks like a nightmare!
