The Bonus Height Amendment Was Not Passed -- Deferred for a New Special Area Plan Amendment

Thank you to 750+ that signed this petition and for those members of the NBV Community that attended that January 21st North Bay Village Commission Meeting. At the 2nd Reading for final passage of the Ordinance to Amend Section 8.12 "Bonus Height" this item was not passed and was deferred. 

A new Special Area Plan Amendment was submitted by Mayor Rachel Streitfeld. It will be drafted by the City for the future review and approval by the NBV Planning & Zoning Advisory Board before it can appear for final passage by the Commission. More details will be available on this amendment on a future date. There are potentially three properties on Harbor Island that could be developed as a Special Area Plan, so the building height discussion for Harbor Island is not completely over yet.
