I have personally experienced the bitter end of unfair treatment and biasness in Addis Ababa, which pushed me to become a victim. Through this petition, I highlight the urgent need to promote fairness and eradicate hate speech in our society, because everyone deserves to live in a community with respect and equality. A study by the United Nations Human Rights Council shows that in societies where there is unchecked hate speech, there is often a higher risk of discrimination and hostility. I can attest to this from my own experience. We need to address this issue before it escalates and causes irreparable harm.

Additionally, as people of the vibrant city of Addis Ababa, we must prioritize awareness and education in our effort to resist hate speech. We must take immediate action to promote fairness in our community, whether it's at our workplaces, neighborhoods, or among friends and family. In doing so, we can hope to create an environment where everyone feels valued, safe, and free to express themselves without fear of prejudice. This is a fundamental human right, integral to our city's development and the well-being of its citizens.
