Project MRP: Make Rayman Public domain

Project MRP: Make Rayman Public domain
The Issue
The main goal of this petition is to make the french video game character "rayman" public domain as ubisoft (the company that owns the series) hasn't released a new console game in over a decade and will likely never make a new game in the series again. If this IP was public domain it would allow any game developer to legally use rayman characters in their games, giving them the freedom to make their own sequels. Rayman is mainly relegated to cameos/dlc in other games, and an occasional mobile auto runner, but even that's likely to change as a lot of the talents behind those projects have left the company essentially putting this franchise into a state of limbo.
Many gamers feel as if ubisoft is rejecting creativity and are producing more bland and generic entries that are often lacking in quality. They argue that artistic expression and genuine passion is slowly being replaced by corporate greed and that rayman's absence is a great example of that.
I think it's crucial that we make this change now as this franchise means a lot to so many people and is very loved by the gaming community, ubisoft seems to have no future plans for the series and some even speculate that they resent it so making rayman the first public domain video game character would help put the series back on track and could even inspire other game companies to do the same with their IPs, and because it's public domain ubisoft can still freely use rayman without any issues if they do plan on bringing him back.
