The Issue

They have Project 2025. This is Project 6.

In recent years, we the People of the United States of America have had to bear witness to an unprecedented retreat from civility, logic, reason, and indeed sanity from within the institutions of our own supposed "representative" government. This, of course, is no coincidence. Greed, self-indulgence, and arrogance have taken priority over the Democratic process, with deep pocketed corporations and lobbyists paying for investment in their own interests while outright ignoring the will and well-being of We the People. It is time to bring this to an end. Hundreds of thousands of Americans have already been negatively impacted by the decisions made by all three branches of government. Families have been devastated, livelihoods have been destroyed, and lives have been lost due to outright negligence and indifference toward our plight  by those in power. If we allow this to carry on, there is no question that we will continue perpetuating the cycle in this country where only a few select privileged individuals will have sovereignty over the average citizen, and equity will remain a distant fantasy. We must unite as one and take our power back from the would-be self-important rulers of our nation. They must be reminded that they are our representatives, not our masters, and that we are the ones in charge.

This petition is a call to action to demand that the Constitution be amended to better reflect today's ever changing political and cultural landscape and give authority back to The People of the United States.

First, representatives of the people will be appointed directly by the people through local, state and federal elections as is currently the accepted norm. However, they will in no way be monetarily funded or assisted by any group or persons in political committees established and administered by corporations, labor unions, membership organizations or trade associations. Salary for these positions will not exceed eighty-thousand dollars per year. In addition, the electoral college is to be abolished, and every election will ultimately be decided on the merits by popular vote without outside external influences or manipulation. Campaigns will no longer be allowed to receive donations from PACs, SuperPACs, HybridPACs, corporations, lobbyists, unions, or any ideological group or entity.

The federal constitutional right to abortion in the United States, Roe v. Wade, will be codified into law. A persons bodily autonomy is not subject to the will of the government.

Separation of Church and State, as the establishment clause of the first amendment of The Constitution implies, protects an individuals' right to practice their religion (or not practice any religion) as they choose, so long as their religious practice does not violate any laws, or cause harm to or infringe upon the rights of others. It also means that the government cannot create a state religion, favor one religion over another, or take actions that would be interpreted as endorsing a particular religion. This clause has been purposefully and blatantly ignored by several individuals and entities feigning ignorance of their actions in order to further their own hate filled and exclusionary agendas. In lieu of this, any persons holding office or governmental entity found violating this or any other clause or amendment wherein overreach is explicitly prohibited will lose their position indefinitely, and an impartial third party will serve in said position in the interim until such time is no longer necessary.

The minimum wage in this country has stagnated to the point of rot, and will be increased at the federal level nationwide to no less that fifteen dollars an hour or more depending on the level of difficulty, time requirements, and social necessity of the occupation held.

Reparations for Black and Indigenous peoples in the United States will be paid retroactively. The concept of reparations has always been viewed as a way to compensate the victims of various humanitarian atrocities acted upon by governments and nations since the late 1700's. Even still, the United States has long neglected its role in paying for the terrors of its barbaric past. That ends now.

Corporations will regulate the price of goods sold and services rendered based on national inflation percentages only, and will no longer gouge prices to line the pockets of their CEOs.

Marriages or civil unions between any party of two or more consenting adults, wherein a consenting adult is identified as being over the age of 18 and of sound mind, will have no limitations regarding sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnic background, or any other individual characteristics, and will be legally recognized regardless of any third party external religious affiliations or personal ideologies and opinions.

Healthcare is a human right. As such, Universal Healthcare will be established nationwide for every citizen, regardless of insurance status, and any debt related to ongoing medical concerns, issues, and necessities will be canceled on a case by case basis given that they are legitimate and verified by a licensed physician or certified medical provider.

Student loan debt will also be canceled on a case by case basis. This will be overseen by the newly restored National Department of Education, and the pursuit of higher levels of learning or other educational opportunities in the United States will no longer require payment, with exception to private or specialized vocational intern based learning institutions.

Any individual appointed as a Supreme Court Justice will have a term limit of 8 years. Congressional and Senatorial representatives will each have their term limits reduced to 6 years, and may only serve a second term if the representative has been re-elected by the people.

Systemic racism and bigoted viewpoints have been the foundation for this country's institutions indeed since our nation's inception, and continues to be a pervasive source of undeniable injustice, contention and pain in our society. Any racist, prejudiced, bigoted or blatantly hateful act that brings harm to any individual or group of individuals of a specific race, ethnicity. religion, gender or other universally identifiable and immutable human characteristics will be seen as an act of terrorism or human rights violation depending on the nature and severity of the act, and will be treated as such.

All firearms in the United States will be serialized and regulated. Buyers will be required to pass a background check, a standardized weapons training course, and psychiatric evaluation prior to purchasing a firearm and maintain a license issued to them upon purchase to be renewed every four years. National buybacks will occur for every citizen in possession of any firearm deemed a weapon of war, unless also able to successfully complete a background check, weapons training and psychiatric evaluation.

The United States will take action to reduce carbon emissions and all other forms of environmental pollution nationwide to greatly reduce its dependency on fossil fuels and, more importantly, greatly improve environmental conditions and living conditions within our communities. The United States will also continue to invest more research into alternative means of safe and effevtive clean energy.

Police departments nationwide will no longer receive funding for or access to military grade weaponry, vehicles or other equipment used by our nations military and will instead receive explicitly detailed training in social work, de-escalation methods, mental health services and other societally beneficial areas wherein they may actually finally live up to their slogan of "Protect and Serve."

The average American taxpayer will no longer be required to directly finance corporations funneling money to themselves through necessary institutions intended to benefit society as a whole such as healthcare, energy, the pharmaceuticals or institutions of higher learning while simultaneously paying for corrupt so-called "free market" rates for what should unequivocally be legitimately free products and services that the government pays for with the taxes citizens provide that subsidize those same services.

Taxes for the wealthiest individuals in the United States will be increased to no less that 20% of their annual revenue. This includes Wealth Taxes and Estate Taxes. They will pay their fair share into the same pool of taxes as every other citizen to ensure support for tax funded societal necessities such as transportation, healthcare, education, etc. In addition, school lunches provided in public school cafeterias will be free.

Food and water are the most basic of human necessities, and as such, will henceforth be categorized as basic human rights. (It is honestly astounding that this even needs to be addressed, but here we are.)

This is only the beginning. There are so many more changes that must come to fruition through healthy debate and collaboration. Currently, this document is fluid and ever changing, and will continue to amend itself until the people of this country finally have a fair say in the welfare of their own lives.
