Happy Earth Month, Eagle Creek Advocates!

We are excited to kick off Earth Day week with a Walk at Eagle Creek this Sunday, 4/19 with Protect Pike Township! Join us for a 2 mile walk starting at the John and Mary Geisse Soccer Complex to the Beach Pavilion at Eagle Creek Park and back.

We look forward to being in nature at Eagle Creek, and being in community as we advocate to save Eagle Creek.

Registration strongly encouraged

SPECIFICS

The walk is this Sunday, April 19th from 1:00-3:00 PM.

If joining the walk: Park at Mary & John Geisse Soccer Complex in the northwest lot (7225 W 56th St, Indianapolis, IN 46254).

You are welcome to bring your yard/personal signs. We will be walking through the gate and park silently so that we do not disturb our woodland friends. Also, feel free to bring a small bag and gloves to collect trash along the way.

If meeting us at the Beach Pavilion: Park at the beach lot before 1:40 PM; our goal is to return to the Beach Pavilion (7602 Eagle Beach Dr) around this time, for safety we are asking people to park a few minutes in advance of walkers returning.

By 2:00 PM - We will arrive at the Beach Shelter: We will spend approximately 40 minutes at the Beach Shelter. We will enjoy cake and community and hear updates from Eagle Creek neighbors about the progress we have made and our next steps. We will be getting a great group photo at the Beach Shelter.

We will be leaving to return to the soccer complex at 2:40 PM, anticipating a return around 3:00 PM

OTHER DETAILS

There is a portalet at the Beach Pavillion, and a couple of others along the walk.

The walk is mostly paved and pebbled path, there may be some wooden stairs along the route and small hills.

Please consider pitching in a couple of dollars for snacks. We will have some snacks available, we encourage you to bring water with you and we will have a couple of coolers at the pavilion.

Dress warmly in layers as the weather may be brisk, we are anticipating 50 degree weather with 15 mph winds.
