Bullying has long been an issue that negatively affects the academic performance and mental health of students. It is reported that one in three students in the United States experience some form of bullying during their school years, hindering their ability to learn, grow, and feel secure (source: National Center for Education Statistics, 2019). In Detroit, Michigan, parents, teachers, and students alike continue to grapple with this growing problem. This anti-bullying petition calls on the Detroit School Board and its stakeholders to implement stricter anti-bullying policies, provide adequate resources for the victims of bullying, conduct thorough bullying awareness and prevention programs, and ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for our children.
