While PAN requires disclosure of an individual’s full name including initials, the Aadhaar database does not insist on disclosure of the full name of the individual. But, As per provisions of the Finance Act 2017, Aadhaar number or Aadhaar enrolment number will be mandatory to file income-tax returns and to apply for a new PAN.
