Probe the Misuse of PM Cares Fund & Electoral Bonds for Horse Trading & Voter Bribery

The Issue

We, the Citizens of India, demand a high-level probe of the misuse of the funds from the opaque PM Cares Fund and the defunct electoral bonds system for various frauds and malpractices, including political horse trading, voter bribery and other irregularities.

In recent years especially post-pandemic, we (as keen political observers) have been traumatised by the money power used by the ruling party in states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Odisha where loyal members and chief aides of the then ruling parties i.e. The Shiv Sena, Congress, TMC and BJD switched sides and joined the main opposition party, the BJP, with constant murmurs of these rebels receiving crores of rupees to join hands with the enemy.

Everyone who knew these rebels closely, whether it was Eknath Shinde of the Shiv Sena or Jyotiraditya Scindia of the Congress or Jay Panda of the BJD or Suvendu Adhikari of the TMC, will vouch that these were all steadfast party loyalists and extremely close to the high commands of their respective parties before switching sides ostensibly in exchange for huge amounts of money. They all strangely jumped shipped to a party (the BJP), which they used to criticise and abuse day and night not long before.

In recent days, we have unfortunately witnessed a similar turn of despicable events where Raghav Chadha, a top leader of Aam Aadmi Party  and someone who called the BJP "a party of goondas" has joined that very party along with his band of merry rebels to avoid disqualification from the Rajya Sabha in which they have been members. Sadly enough, there have once again murmurs of huge chunks of money changing hands.

Please note that all these defections and rebellions have taken place only after the notorious Electoral Bonds system was introduced in 2018 and things worsened drastically when the PM Cares Fund was set up by Prime Minister Modi and associates during the pandemic. Also, note that the Election Commission of India and its heads have been willing accomplices in this fraudulent environment created and developed by the current ruling coalition.

Similarly, it has been observed that the BJP has been violating the code of conduct election after election, be it at the national, state or local level e.g. the BMC poll in Mumbai when they have been bribing lakhs of voters to vote for their party in exchange for currency notes.

Keeping all this in mind, we request you to take the following action to protect democracy in India, punish the guilty and safeguard the rights of ordinary citizens:

1) Probe the bank accounts and asset records of all these political rebels and their family members as well as their close aides, especially around the time they switched sides and joined the BJP.

2) Investigate thoroughly the fund transfers into and out of collections from the shady Electoral Bond schemes and PM Cares Funds run by the ruling party (the BJP) and their close associates.

3) Conduct regular high-level audit of the Electoral Bond collections and the PM Cares Fund and freeze or take over the money and assets whenever illegality and instances of bribery have been established.

4) Take stringent action against the Election Commission of India and its allegedly corrupt heads for being complicit in these fraudulent activities over the past 8 years.

5) Ascertain the person(s) financially supporting these fraudulent rebellion such as the  luxurious hotel accommodation and travel provided to these defectors during the churn like the financier of the hotel bills in Gujarat and Assam when Eknath Shinde and team were rebelling against Uddhav Thackeray of the original Shiv Sena.
