The Issue

The ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza has reached a critical juncture, and it is imperative that reproductive health resources are included as an essential component of the humanitarian aid packages being sent to this region from across the world. As a PhD student at the University of Cambridge with a commitment to improving global health and human rights, I am someone deeply concerned about this issue and am calling on all international organizations involved in providing humanitarian aid to prioritize the inclusion of menstrual and sexual health resources for women and teenage girls.

There are over 493,000 displaced women and girls in Gaza (including over 50,000 pregnant women) who are in urgent need of reproductive/sexual/maternal health aid. These figures highlight the dire situation these vulnerable individuals face daily. Without access to basic reproductive health resources such as sanitary pads, contraceptives or prenatal vitamins - their physical well-being is severely compromised.

By signing this petition, you will be advocating for a more inclusive approach towards humanitarian aid distribution that recognizes the specific needs of women and girls. It's time we ensure that every woman or girl affected by this crisis can maintain her dignity during menstruation while also having access to necessary sexual health services.

Please sign this petition today to urge international organizations to prioritize menstrual and sexual health resources within their relief efforts for Gaza.
