After raising concerns about inconsistent notices and limited access to the initial outreach process, a new in person neighborhood meeting has now been scheduled for the proposed Fair Oaks Plaza redevelopment at 929 E. Duane Ave.
This updated meeting includes clearer details, consistent contact information, and an accessible evening time. These are meaningful improvements, and they happened because this community spoke up.
But the larger issue remains unresolved.
This project still proposes replacing a long standing commercial center with primarily housing, while reducing access to neighborhood serving retail and grocery options in North Sunnyvale. The risk of deepening an existing gap in everyday services has not changed.
Now it is critical that we show up.
This meeting is one of the few opportunities for residents to ask questions, raise concerns, and ensure our voices are part of the process before decisions move forward.
