Another housing only development is being brought forward in the San Miguel neighborhood of North Sunnyvale, and the developer, is hosting an Open House to walk residents through the proposal. The plan adds 329 new townhomes but includes no retail or community serving space. It is important for residents to understand how another housing only project continues to overlook the basic services the community has long needed.

North Sunnyvale already has a large housing focused project moving forward at Fair Oaks Plaza tied to the failed Village Center vision, which removes all existing commercial spaces, including the Taj Mahal Fresh Market. With that closure and no adequate replacement planned, the area is on track to become a food desert. Now this new proposal adds hundreds more units without addressing the lack of essential services. When you look at both projects together, the imbalance becomes clear. Thousands of new residents are being added, yet there is still no plan for an adequate grocery store or other everyday services. That is why showing up matters. Even if you simply want to listen, your presence helps show that the neighborhood is paying attention and cares about these decisions.
