Prioritise funding for Mt Tamborine national parks
The issue
I have the incredible privilege of living next to a national park, where I am constantly reminded of the beauty and the delicate balance of nature. My love for nature and wildlife grows with each visit, yet so does my concern for the impacts of unsupervised tourism on these precious resources. Specifically, I've witnessed its dire consequences on the endangered wildlife that calls Mt Tamborine home. It breaks my heart to see the habitats of these creatures deteriorate due to neglect and lack of care.
Mt Tamborine's national parks are treasures that not only serve as havens for biodiversity but also as serene escapes for residents and tourists alike. However, with an increase in unsupervised tourism comes an increase in pollution, habitat destruction, and the degradation of natural environments. The time has come for us to act to reverse this damage and ensure these natural wonders continue to thrive for future generations.
The government must take immediate and decisive action to prioritise funding for the cleaning and conservation of Mt Tamborine's national parks. Proper funding would mean deploying more park rangers to oversee tourist activities, installing necessary waste management systems to reduce pollution, and restoring areas already damaged by human interference.
Investments in these areas will not only protect our treasured wildlife but will also enhance the visitor experience and ensure sustainable tourism practices. By taking these measures, we contribute to the conservation of our unique biodiversity and preserve the natural beauty that Mt Tamborine offers. These changes are not only necessary but are indeed urgent.
Sign this petition if you care about protecting Mt Tamborine's national parks and ensuring that future generations can experience its magic without the shadow of ecological damage looming overhead. Together, we can make a difference.
