If you've messaged the administration at Valhalla or Grossmont Union HS District, you've probably received the following form statement: "Thank you for your message. Valhalla High School does not have a rugby team. An outside organization, Tribe Rugby, has a rugby team called Norsemen. The team has been referred to as a high school rugby team at Valhalla, which has caused confusion. We have asked the organization to find practice facilities elsewhere to avoid any further confusion. The organization was told that Valhalla’s facilities are available for competitions on the weekend should they choose to continue, provided the usual insurance and fees required for all outside organizations are done with advance notice. Thank you for your support of Tribe Rugby’s program. We wish the organization continued success. There are two things to note about this form email. FIRST, after that first year as a recongized Club Sport, Valhalla REQUIRED the Norsemen and Valkyries to use an outside "sponsor" club - so we founded one, TRIBE Rugby. SECOND, did you see Ms. Kastan's email signature? The one that starts with "The Mission of Valhalla High School is to..." We encourage you, Ms. Kastan, to follow your own mission! Please encourage your students by empowering them in something they ALREADY own! Their rugby teams.
