We've met with the school board, and they need everyone of you to fill out an official submission form by April 29th!!!

A committee has been formed to name the soon-to-be amalgamated school in Tay Township. SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE APRIL 29th at 4pm!

 We want to make it clear that we are sending this petition care of Principal Brian Jackson. As a member of the committee, Mr. Jackson is an unbiased party and the committee will welcome all name submissions!!!

We ask the committee (comprised of community members, Board personnel, administration, students and parents from the three Tay schools and a member of the municipal council) to consider "Paul James Delaney Public School", in memory of teacher Paul "Mr. D" Delaney.

In re-naming a school, the SCDSB gives consideration to the following important factors:

• Local importance of the institution
• Environmental setting
• Historical significance
• The significance of an individual whose national, provincial or local accomplishments are widely recognized and will have long-lasting meaning to the school community
• The diversity of the school community
• The possible duplication of a similar school name within SCDSB and other coterminous boards
