More than 1,100 of us had a vision for opening up Witherspoon - making it safer for pedestrians, and more vibrant for residents, visitors, and merchants.

Tomorrow evening (Mon. 12/21) members of the Council get to embrace that vision. They will vote on an ordinance to reduce car traffic and re-design the street.

We did a great job making our voices heard when the ordinance was first introduced (15 public comments in favor by my account). But we can't stop now:

-Join the Council meeting tomorrow night. Here is the Zoom link and agenda. We expect the public comment period re Witherspoon to start (best guess) sometime after 7:15 pm.

-Can't make the meeting? Send an email to princetoncomments@gmail.com. The mayor reads your message of support into the public record. (It was so encouraging to hear all of the emails in the last Council meeting.)

Final thing - I wanted to give you an idea of how this proceeds. Once the ordinance has passed the Council, agencies like the NJ Dept. of Transportation must approve and help with implementation. That means I might bother you with one or two more emails over the course of this next year - stay tuned!
