During our vacation to Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica, we were witnesses to severe animal cruelty multiple times a day.  A man, they call “Ring Ring”, was walking puppies and dogs down the beach with a leash made from telephone wire. They were dragged most of the time because they were overheated, limping and often too young to walk in 90 degree weather, let alone be away from mom at such a young age. They had no water or food and were suffering from dehydration and starvation, ducking under every beach chair in search for shade.  Ring Ring claims to rescue dogs and sells items to support them, however, he is a known animal abuser, convict and an aggressive alcoholic. He breeds these animals to gain sympathy from vacationers, knowing he has a new audience every week. Animals have been found injured, sick and deceased in his home. We stepped up and rescued puppies with his support and another family followed our lead, allowing us to remove 6 animals from his “care”. This did not come without serious repercussions. He quickly became dangerous and lashed out toward us and the puppies in a violent manner, almost breaking the puppies legs. He is a danger to animals, people and tourism!
