The Environment Ministry of India has  indiscriminately given a spate of clearances to various State Governments to cull several species of animals declared as nuisance due to man animal conflict. The animals and birds include monkeys in Himachal Pradesh, Nilgai, a species of antelope and wild pigs  in Bihar, our National Bird peacock in Goa and elephants in West Bengal.

• Man animal conflict has mainly arisen due to large scale encroachment of humans into wild life territory.   Culling of animals in the name of Scientific management is not an acceptable solution.
• We need to look at compassionate alternatives to tackle the problem.
•  Forest Departments should come out with alternate solutions and equip the farmers to face the situation.
• Resorting to senseless culling is closing our mind to alternate solutions.
• Indian Culture proclaims "Vasudaiva Kutumbakam" meaning " The whole Universe is one family". Compassion and Universal Love are the very basis of our culture. 
•  Licence to eliminate animals in the name of scientific management contradicts the core of Indian Culture and Cosmic Connectivity.
• Natural calamities are the result of reckless exploitation of Natural resources. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction! People are observing no limits in their 'right' to act as they please. There can be no right without RESPONSIBILITY.
• So, please intervene to stop permission to states to cull animals and find a compassionate amicable solution.
