A corruption-free India is the dream of every common Indian citizen. In this regard, the government demands that WE – individuals, organisations, corporates file our income and ALL details of where it came from.  

But, Political parties can accept anonymous donations of up to 20,000 rupees. And they do so from several lakhs of people.

Political parties received 4895 crore rupees between 2004-05 and 2011-12. 75% of these funds could not be traced and were from ‘Unknown Sources’.*

India will never be corruption free if this continues. Political funding is used for gaining political support and patronage and is a known source of corruption.

National efforts to eliminate corruption will have NO EFFECT without making political funding transparent and accountable.

Prime Minister Modi and the BJP Government have promised to bring transparency into political funding.  The Election Commission has urged the Government to amend laws so that any donation of 2000 rupees and above must be recorded and can be tracked.

Sign this petition and ask the government to accept the EC’s recommendation. This is the clear and simple step we can take in the fight to make India corruption free.

This step will hold ALL political parties accountable, the ruling party, the opposition and regional parties. It will ensure cleaner politics in India.
