The social media ban has been announced. But we're not done!

Seven years ago, I started this petition after losing my daughter Ruby. Today, Keir Starmer stood up and announced a ban on social media for all under-16s in the UK.

But the ban doesn't come into force until spring 2027, and between now and then, the companies that have been profiting from our children will do everything they can to water it down. Meta and Snapchat came out against it within hours of the announcement. Civil liberties groups are already calling it an overreach. Two children's commissioners have questioned whether it will work.

I've been fighting for Ruby's Law for seven years. I know how quickly a government promise can stall.

So we're moving into the next phase. Not declaring a victory, but watching what happens next. Making sure this goes all the way through.
