capital punishment for rape in Pakistan

capital punishment for rape in Pakistan
The Issue
Pakistan, the land of pure, is ranked number 6 amongst the most dangerous countries for women to live in. yes, women. Crimes against us women range from sexual assault to pornography and women of every age, unfortunately, are subjected to these heinous acts. According to the Express Tribune, 93% of Pakistani women experience sexual assault and according to Wikipedia, 20-30% of women face domestic abuse. yes, feeling safe in our homes is also a blessing that most of us are deprived of. what is being done, we ask? where is the section 509 of the penal code?
recently a women was gang-raped on Lahore's motorway near Gujjarpura in front of her children. according to sources she contacted emergency helplines but was deprived of help. now, we can only imagine the trauma she and her kids are gonna live with while the world stays silent.
the issue has plagued our society for decades and it's high time the government takes action. our political figures have the power to implement strict laws and we demand immediate action to be taken against these gruesome crimes.
according to Islam, the hadd penalty(zina) is applied to a convicted rapist i-e stoning to death for the married(muhsan) and flogging of 100 lashes and deportation for the unmarried(ghair-muhsan). the argument is based on a rape case at the time of our beloved Prophet(PBUH), where the victim was excused and her rapist(married) was sentenced to be stoned to death. ( source: wikipedia)
we request our PM to address this issue and start implementing laws which will help in preventing such cases and provide hope to the women of this country. enough is enough!
