Prevent the Redundancy of Dogs Trust Staff

Prevent the Redundancy of Dogs Trust Staff
The Issue
Dogs Trust, founded in 1891, is the UK's largest dog welfare charity, rehoming thousands of dogs each year and providing extensive support to dog owners.
However, recent actions threaten to make invaluable staff members redundant. The consequences of this could be dire with less staff to provide care. According to the Dogs Trust Annual Report 2020, the organization provided care for over 15,000 dogs, an incredible feat maintained by its dedicated staff. Dogs Trust canine carers, trainers, rehomers and receptionists are the backbone of the charity. Their expertise, experience, and dedication are irreplaceable.
We urge the leadership of Dogs Trust to explore alternative solutions to financial or structural challenges without resorting to job cuts. Transparency in decision-making, open dialogue with staff, and a commitment to protecting both employees and the dogs in your care are essential during this critical time.
Let's preserve the work of these frontline workers who ensure the safety and care of these dogs. They are critical to the operation of the charity and their loss would be a significant blow to the cause. Sign this petition to show your support for the Dogs Trust staff and to help stop their redundancy.
Those who currently work for Dogs Trust, we urge you to join our union (unite the union). Unions empower workers by giving them a collective voice and leverage to improve their jobs and livelihoods. Union membership fees are not affordable for everyone. To combat this barrier to unionising, we have started a mutual aid fund to help cover some of the membership costs. If you'd like to donate and help Dogs Trust staff access the advice and expertise of a union, please do so here - https://opencollective.com/unite-the-underdogs
Unite the union for Dogs Trust staff
We all appreciate the support and love shown to us and the dogs over the years and are grateful for every signature and share of our petition to help save our Ilfracombe, Newbury and Bridgend centres at risk 🤍.
