Remembering late-night practice sessions filled with laughter between teammates from different continents, and heated yet friendly debates about athletic tactics during long road trips, truly shows how diverse perspectives make athletics shine.

Bill HR10351 threatens this vibrant and multicultural fabric by aiming to exclude international athletes from competing in collegiate sports within the United States. This exclusionary bill not only disregards the contributions these students make in enriching campus diversity and athletic excellence but also potentially diminishes the competitive standard of American collegiate sports.

According to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), approximately 12% of all student-athletes are international students, many of whom have come to the US on partial or full athletic scholarships. These scholarships often represent a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for young athletes who might not have the same resources in their home countries to further their education and athletic careers.

Furthermore, international students have historically excelled in various sports, bringing gold medals to US teams in competitions like the National Championships and the Olympics. They contribute not only athletically but also culturally, introducing peer athletes and students to new cultures and perspectives, fostering an environment of inclusivity and understanding.
