We, the show people of Govan, have been an integral part of this community for over a 100 years. This is where we reside as families and a community all year round. Known within Govan, we have family and friends here and have been living on this land provided by Glasgow City Council for over 60 years. Despite our longstanding presence and contributions to the local economy through our businesses, we are now facing threats to our existence from the same council that once welcomed us.

The council has labeled our land as vacant and derelict, ignoring its significance as our home. They are refusing negotiations and instead pushing for us to leave everything behind. We pay our taxes and bills like every other citizen yet still need to provide ourselves with basic human facilities which the council has never provided for us such as street lighting, sewage etc. We are apart of the community in govan as well as being part of a wider community. 

This is not just about a piece of land; it's about preserving centuries-old community that adds vibrancy and diversity to Govan. It's about protecting families who've built their lives here from being uprooted without assistance or consideration. This is our home, our heritage, our business.
