The Ramblers Cafe in Shipley, Heanor is more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee. It's a community hub where everyone - from the elderly to children, dog walkers to runners - come together. This cafe has been an integral part of our lives and now it's under threat. Alison and her amazing staff have made this place what it is today, but they are now facing unemployment and financial hardship due to possible closure or re-tendering.

This isn't just about losing a local business; it's about losing an essential part of our community fabric. Elderly residents rely on this cafe for social interaction, which can be crucial for mental health (source: Age UK). Children learn valuable social skills here while dog walkers and runners find respite after their activities.

The potential closure will not only affect those who frequent the cafe but also those who work there. Staff members with mortgages are now facing uncertainty over their employment status.

We cannot let this happen without putting up a fight! We urge local authorities in Derbyshire to reconsider any plans that would lead to the closure or re-tendering of Ramblers Cafe. Let us preserve this beloved community hub for future generations!
