Prevent the Closure of Our Beloved Under1Roof Nursery in Royal Arsenal

The Issue

My daughter attends this nursery and it has become a second home for her. She loves every moment spent there, learning, playing, and growing with her friends. This nursery is not just a childcare facility; it's an integral part of our community in Royal Arsenal, London.

The proposed closure of our nursery would be devastating to many families like ours who rely on its services for their children's early education and care. It would also disrupt the lives of the dedicated staff members who work tirelessly to provide a nurturing environment for our children.

The nursery has just been given 6 weeks to leave the premises even though we have all the planning approved. We have seen correspondence from the estate manager, where he chooses not to communicate the reason, and not to extend the eviction to give time for another venue to be found! This will leave 74 children without childcare, having to say goodbye to their key workers just before Christmas and all of the staff will be made redundant.

According to data from the Department for Education (DfE), access to high-quality early years education significantly contributes to children's cognitive and social development. The closure of our nursery would deprive numerous children in Royal Arsenal from these benefits.
