Prevent the closure of Griffith University daycares

The issue

For many families in the Nathan area of Brisbane, QLD, and parents who work at Griffith University, the Tallowwood and Boronia Daycare Centres are more than just facilities; they are a vital part of our community. These centres have been providing incredible care and learning environments to our children for many years. The closure will also mean the loss of employment for many long-serving, hardworking, and dedicated staff who we trust wholeheartedly to care for our children.

In a world where distressing stories of misconduct in childcare are all too common, having a place where we feel safe to leave our children is invaluable. The trained professionals at these daycares have consistently provided a nurturing and educational environment that many families depend on. The sense of community and commitment shown by the staff have been a blessing to many parents who rely on their services daily.

Closing these centres would not only disrupt the lives of countless families relying on Tallowwood and Boronia for childcare but also rob these children of the excellent education and nurturing care they receive there. It would further burden the already overtaxed childcare system in the region, forcing families to look for alternatives that may not meet the same standards of safety and care.

Furthermore, the financial and emotional toll on the staff cannot be understated. Many of these professionals have worked at the centres for years, becoming trusted figures in the lives of parents and children alike. Their sudden unemployment would not only be an injustice to those who have dedicated years of service but also a significant loss to the quality care sector.

We urge Griffith University to reconsider its decision to cease operations or hand over the keys to another provider and look for alternative solutions that can ensure the sustainability of these centres.

Let us come together as a community to support these essential institutions and safeguard the well-being and education of our children. Sign this petition to keep Tallowwood and Boronia Daycare Centres open at Griffith University!

EDIT - this petition is not affiliated with any slanderous messaging about the University or its management and is not to be used in this context. The purpose of this petition is to convey the impact of the proposed closure of the University run daycares on the community and the number of people who do not wish to see this occur. Thank you for your support.
