I am a regular shopper at the Goodwill Outlet off Martin Way in Olympia, WA. As a disabled individual with limited income, this store has been my lifeline for affordable household essentials like bath towels, pillowcases and kitchen towels. Without access to a car or alternative affordable shopping options like garage sales, the Goodwill Outlet is not just a store for me - it's an essential part of my life.

Sadly, plans have been announced to close this outlet in November 2024. This would leave only two other stores in South Tacoma and Kent - locations that are inaccessible for many shoppers like me who rely on local outlets.

The impact of this closure extends beyond personal inconvenience. It threatens our community's ability to access affordable goods and contributes to increased waste as more items are likely to end up in landfills instead of being reused (Environmental Protection Agency).

We cannot let this happen without making our voices heard. We urge those responsible for these decisions at Goodwill Industries International Inc., to reconsider their plans and keep our local outlet open.
