I am aware of the petition and have responded directly to resident inquiries since this process started. I understand and can relate to the community concern associated with the current findings of the committee charged with researching the feasibility of district consolidation. Like many residents, I have strong ties to Forest Avenue and do not take any potential decisions lightly regarding educating the children of this community.

To be clear, the board has not made a decision, and the only information we have been given is what has been posted publicly. The Board of Education is scheduled to review the full findings of the committee on January 14. The board and the community as a whole face monumental decisions ahead that will impact the future of education in West Babylon.
