Pogo, an online activity, has gained a significant following within our country, particularly in Makati, Metro Manila. These activities are not only a source of fun and entertainment for our citizens but also contribute significantly to our economy. In 2019 alone, Pogo helped generate P18 billion in additional revenues for our government (source: BIR Revenue Data). However, efforts to ban Pogo pose a direct threat to this thriving industry and its significant contribution. We understand the concerns surrounding regulation; however, banning is not the solution. A more controlled and well-regulated approach would preserve the benefits while minimizing the downsides. We urge the government to reconsider plans to ban Pogo and instead focus on stronger regulations, fair policies, and careful scrutiny.
