Prevent Nahid Modaressi from being deported to Iran

The Issue

Nahid Modaressi is a young iranian woman living under refugee status in Türkiye. She has been accepted and protected as a refugee in Türkiye because as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, her life was threatened back in Iran where homosexuality is punishable by torture and death. She has been living in Türkiye for years, being the voice of her sister Elham Modaressi who is still in Iran and has been detained for no apparent reason.

But less than a few weeks ago, the Turkish government revoked her refugee status for no legal reason and is planning to send her back to Iran. She was beaten at the immigration office when she attempted to renew her ID card by an employee of Turkish immigration office. If she gets deported back to Iran, she highly risks being detained, tortured and put to death.

You need to help the world hear her name. Another country that can accept Nahid as a refugee is Canada. If you are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, you can also help by checking out Canada.ca for G5 Refugee Sponsorship.

The Turkish government does not have the right to deport her to Iran without any proof of why she doesn't fit the criteria anymore. It is unlawful and the world needs to help her.
